FAQ

Common questions

Short answers about how this converter works and what it keeps private.

Is my drawing uploaded anywhere?

No. The converter runs inside your browser, so the drawing is read and the PDF is made on your own computer. Nothing is sent to a server.

Which DWG files work?

AutoCAD DWG files from R14 up to the 2018 format. Newer AutoCAD releases still save in the 2018 format, so their files work too.

Can I print it in black and white, or only some layouts?

Yes. Under Colours, pick Black and white (every line black, as AutoCAD's monochrome plot style) or Grayscale before you add the drawing. When the PDF is ready, each layout is listed with a tick: untick the ones you do not want and the PDF is made again without them.

How long does it take?

Most drawings take a few seconds. Very large files take longer, because everything happens on your computer. A drawing with tables takes longer the first time, because a second converter (about 4.5 MB) loads once to read them.

What if a page comes out blank?

Some things don't print yet: 3D solids, external references and construction lines are left out, and the result lists anything it skipped. Tables print as the lines and text they are drawn with.
